About the Position
As a Permitting Coordinator I, you will assist customers with the following: respond to general permitting questions, research, issuance of permits, schedule inspections, and process payments in accordance with applicable State Statutes, county ordinances, regulations, and unit policies in permitting. This position has a high level of customer interaction and will build and foster positive working relationships and maintain an excellent customer service standard when interfacing with both internal and external customers. Building/Permitting Coordinator Duties
  • Explain and interpret permitting policies and procedures to customers.
  • Assist with checking and responding to
    building@scgov.net
    emails.
  • Schedule, cancel, or reschedule inspections in the permitting system.
  • Provide instruction and assistance in the use of the permitting customer check-in system.
  • Responsible for keeping the procedure manual up to date and providing input to the manager for updating the unit procedure manual, when necessary.
  • Other building/permitting coordinator functions are assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Front Desk Reception Duties:
  • Deliver prompt and courteous customer service at the reception desk by greeting walk-up visitors, maintaining the sign-in log, distributing visitor badges, and directing customers to conference rooms.
  • Answer the reception desk phone, transfer calls, take messages for staff if required, and email alerts to the building as required.
  • Manually updates daily all conference room schedules by placing calendars outside of conference rooms.
  • Receive courier deliveries and contact staff upon arrival; signs for USPS-certified mail as needed.
  • Responsible for pool vehicles being signed out scheduling conflicts, maintaining the accountability of keys and paperwork, and coordination with Fleet for maintenance.
  • Responsible for the appearance of the lobby/reception area.
  • Other front desk reception functions assigned.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of clerical office experience or customer service experience.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Building construction inspections, permitting, planning, zoning, and /or construction knowledge.
  • Experience with Land Information Management System (Accela).
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $18.18 - $19.00, based on experience.
