This position starts out paying $19.56/hr (Step 1), benefits start within 60 days of hire, and there are numerous opportunities for both growth and development. About the Position
In this role you will...
- Respond to work orders for repairs in county parks, involving carpentry, painting, concrete work, cleaning (restrooms, trash, pressure washing, etc.) and irrigation.
- Assist other staff in routine or corrective maintenance projects.
- Perform scheduled playground inspections and police the grounds.
- Responsible for managing materials, multiple work orders, purchasing cards, and maintaining county equipment.
- Assist the Sheriff’s Office Work Program.
- Evaluate, communicate, and complete maintenance on potential playground issues.
Work Hours: 40 Hours Per Week - 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in maintenance
- Valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of hire

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of minor construction, power tools, or handyman experience.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
