Residential Field Technician
This is professional work in the mass appraisal of residential real property in Sarasota County. Activities include gathering information for appraisers to determine and prepare physical parcel data and property descriptions. Information provided is compiled from actual site inspections including condition, improvements, new construction, and other actions that affect tax assessments and valuation. Reports to the Residential Valuation Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs onsite inspections and review of records to provide and update information
- Updates County records and files to ensure accuracy of information
- Reviews properties requesting permits for new construction or improvements
- Edits and reviews data entered to determine accuracy and submits change requests
- Assists in creating property descriptions
- Responds to telephone calls as required
- Prepares property sketches for inclusion with property record
- Queries database and special computer software to secure information and data files as required
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION
- Associates degree from an accredited college/university and 1 to 2 years of experience related to property inspections or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Varying combinations of education and experience will satisfy required.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy and possess an aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Valid Florida driver license (or be obtained prior to start)
