This full-time position has responsibility for the North County (Sarasota) office Residential appraisal staff. In addition, the Supervisor has an assigned residential zone that includes conducting appraisals of residential properties. Activities include oversight of research and available market data, collection of field data, discussions with taxpayers, verification and reconciliation of available data in order to indicate just values for properties, and preparation of appraisal and Value Adjustment Board cases, as well as other assigned aspects of management support. Reports to the Assistant Residential Valuation Manager.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- · Provides direction and supervision of Appraisal staff and supports the Customer Service Assistant Manager in assigned duties as needed
· Provides assistance to subordinate employees regarding appraisal guidelines
· Identifies and coordinates field inspections
· Prepares works schedules and assigns duties to Appraisal staff within specific areas
· Oversees and schedules vehicle pool, including assignment, repairs, and maintenance, includes office equipment
· Evaluates performance of subordinate assigned personnel
· Initiates disciplinary action of assigned personnel
· Conducts and oversees special projects as assigned
· Attends organizational meetings and provides input as required
· Responds to questions from public regarding valuation or statutory issues
· Prepares presentations and attends VAB hearings regarding valuation appeals
· Participates in the hiring process
· Handles employee relations issues
· Provides support to other areas and supervision as required
· Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and 3-5 years of related experience required as well as management experience.
Varying combinations of education and experience will satisfy required minimum requirements. Must be computer literate with MS Excel and Word and possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
