This application process is for anyone looking to be sponsored to the local Law Enforcement Academy class for Summer 2025!!The recruit will attend the law enforcement academy to obtain their law enforcement certification. The deputy will administer the laws of Sarasota County, the State of Florida and of the United States in a fair, impartial and professional manner. The deputy will have duties that consist of, but not limited to patrolling areas, conducting traffic stops, informing suspects of their rights, arresting suspects, mediating domestic disputes, protecting crime scenes until assistance arrives, reviewing BOLOS, pursuing vehicles, preparing reports or affidavits and any other law enforcement duties deemed appropriate.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
