Job Summary
Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation (SMHF) Development Officer is responsible for furthering the mission of SMHF by securing philanthropic support, specifically through the development and execution of a multi-faceted Annual Giving program to include donor cultivation, direct mail solicitations, online giving, face-to-face meetings, comprehensive donor stewardship and SMH’s grateful patient program.
Required Qualifications
- Require one (1) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience in a non-profit fundraising position. This may include administrative donor relations and donor services experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer Master's degree and Certification as Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) or Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE).
- Prefer the ability to subscribe to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Standards of Ethics and the Donor Bill of Rights and have integrity, intelligence, a passion for fundraising, good energy level and ability to work as a team player.
- Prefer experience with and understanding of moves management (discovery, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship).
- Prefer excellent communication skills, orally and written, and ease with a wide range of constituents.
- Prefer strong organizational skills and ability to self-motivate and meet project deadlines.
- Prefer strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, collaboration and positive attitude.
- Prefer experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) modules, such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
- Prefer knowledge of and connection to local and/or national funding community, and passion for the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation mission and impact.
