Job Summary
Experienced Otolaryngology Advanced Practice Provider
First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is recruiting a full-time Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with experience working in an Otolaryngology Practice. We are located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa and 1.5 hours north of Ft. Myers on the West Coast of Florida.

Opened in 2021, SMH-Venice Hospital is located on a 65-acre campus and features a 365,000-square-foot, 3-story hospital currently licensed for 178 private patient suites, a 28-bed emergency care center, 8 surgical suites, and a level 1 nursery caring for babies 35 weeks. Construction continues into 2024 to add 34 additional private rooms as well as expansion of the ER to 61 rooms, and space created to add 8 more surgical suites.
SMH-Venice was designed with a growing community in mind and a master plan of providing 400 private inpatient suites with complementary sized emergency room and surgery services to ensure quality care and access.

Requirements:
- Experience in Otolaryngology as an Advanced Practice Provider
- Graduate from accredited APRN or PA program
- Certification in professional specialty
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Florida
- BLS and ACLS
The Physician Assistant (PA) reflects the mission, vision, and values of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards. The PA II typically work in a set acute care setting managing patient care which can include critical care, OB/GYN, Oncology, and Pediatrics. A PA is a graduate with a master's degree or certificate from an accredited physician assistant program at an accredited school or college. The PA functions as part of the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective advanced care to patients. The PA is licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine to perform medical services delegated by the supervising physician(s).
Required Qualifications
- Require bachelor's degree from accredited physician assistant training program. - Require successful completion of Annual Orthopedic Education Requirements upon hire and then annually as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education Plan.
- Require current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Prefer demonstrated clinical competency skills.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to health care practice and current prescription writing skills/DEA licensing.
- Prefer demonstrated skills in documentation in medical records to substantiate accurate billing.
