Hiring for Oncology RN and Nurse Navigator for our Cancer Services Department - MUST have Oncology Experience

The Oncology Nurse Navigator is a RN who identifies and provides guidance to patients and families in eliminating potential barriers to cancer care by identifying and referring to appropriate resources and also functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team as an advocate and educator for patients from point of suspicious findings, through diagnostic studies, diagnosis and treatment plan for cancer through survivorship. The primary function of this role is to build a relationship with patients and physicians, to coordinate a plan of care including appointments, transportation, education, provision and / or enablement of support services and representation within the multidisciplinary care environment while serving as a liaison between the patient and family, primary care physician, internal and external care providers, oncology specialists, referrers, support network members e.g. social workers, and the wider healthcare community. This position is for GYN/GU navigator.  Require one (1) year of clinical practice in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nurse navigator role within an acute care hospital setting.  Prefer Oncology Nurse certification or other Nurse Navigation certification.  

The Oncology Registered Nurse Cancer Services requires at least 2 years of Oncology Experience within the last 7 years and is for Lung Cancer Screening Program. 

- Require Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Candidates with an Associate degree will be considered if they are working towards a BSN as approved by department director.
- Require one (1) year of clinical practice in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nurse navigator role within an acute care hospital setting.

- Prefer competence for all Microsoft Office software.
