Job Summary
Welcome to the SMH Lab Department!!
We are seeking a Lab Information System Analyst that will be responsible for Lab Information System (LIS) analysis, development, data management, technical support, maintenance, application and configuration, quality improvement, user support, implementation, standards/regulation compliance of Laboratory informatics and point of care related to LIS throughout the organization. Other responsibilities include functioning in a collaborative manner with all departments impacted by the LIS, as well as medical staff and community providers, in meeting user needs. Serves as a liaison between hospital departments regarding LIS issues and with vendors in the area of system support concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in a large healthcare system or healthcare vendor organization required.
- Require an Associate degree. Two (2) years of relevant work experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the required degree upon discretion of the director. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems will substitute for the required Associate degree and the two (2) years of relevant experience in a large healthcare system or healthcare vendor organization.
Preferred Qualifications
-Sunquest experience highly preferred
-Prefer previous experience with multiple business and clinical computer systems, database applications and software applications including configuration, interfaces, software testing, implementation, data extraction, conversion and manipulation and report generation.
- Prefer the ability to implement test plans.
- Prefer the ability to lead clinical groups and perform & document workflow analysis.
- Prefer broad experience in systems analysis, design, development and integration of large enterprise wide application systems.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to communicate abstract technical information to less experienced users either verbally or in writing to all levels of staff and management.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and document multi-system issues.
- Prefer demonstrated analytical, people and judgment skills.
- Prefer knowledge of laboratory setting, either by profession or experience.
- Prefer demonstrated conceptual knowledge of networks, servers and databases.
- Prefer demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office and software packages.
- Prefer experience with project management including governance, decision making, and milestone achievement.
