Patient Registration
Job Summary
Screens outpatient scheduled appointments for accuracy, medical necessity as needed, and matching physician order via electronic systems. Follows up with physician offices to verify accuracy for all known payers which may include, Date of Birth (DOB), name, missing or incorrect/conflicting diagnosis, missing or incorrect patient demographics prior to the test/appointment performed. Utilizes electronic systems to verify and update outpatient appointments including but not limited to matching physician order to scheduled test/appointment and making corrections as appropriate. Provides support as requested to patient access staff via Outpatient Screening Support Line.
Required Qualifications
- Require minimum of three (3) years healthcare related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer general knowledge of medical insurance and terminology.
- Prefer knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and current CPT coding.
- Prefer the ability to analyze problems and offer solutions.
- Prefer the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Prefer effective communication skills including ability to interact professionally with physician offices and interdepartmentally.
Mandatory Education
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
