First Physician's Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant or surgically experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology department.
Sarasota

Responsibilities Include
- Working with the GI Oncology team, which includes two surgeons and three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing four 10-hour shifts a week at one hospital.
- First and second assisting in the operating room.
- Rounding on inpatients, seeing consults and coordinating care of patients in the outpatient clinic.
- Weekday/weekend call will be shared equally with other providers (1:5).Â
General Surgery, or Surgical Oncology experience is preferred.
- Florida licensure as
Physician Assistant & NCCPA certification or AGACNP & AACN certification.
- APPs are required to maintain appropriate DEA prescription privileges/licensure.
- Clinical and Surgical experience in related field is preferred.
- BLS required. ACLS certification preferred.

Required Qualifications
- Require current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Require bachelor degree from accredited physician assistant training program.
- Prefer ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Prefer demonstrated written & verbal communication & strong analytical skills.
- Prefer ability to work independently and effectively with physicians and other allied health personnel in the hospital and/or office setting.
- Prefer demonstrated clinical competency skills.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to health care practice and current prescription writing skills/DEA licensing.
- Prefer demonstrated skills in documentation in medical records to substantiate accurate billing.
- Prefer effective interaction skills to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting.

- Prefer knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations.
