This critical role is responsible for leading a team of transporters and linen staff, ensuring that services are provided in a timely, safe, and professional manner to meet the needs of patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the patient transport and linen services team, ensuring prompt and safe transport of patients and delivery of linen services across departments.
- Monitor staff performance, provide guidance, and conduct regular evaluations to ensure excellent service quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety regulations regarding patient transport and linen handling.
- Coordinate with various departments, including nursing, housekeeping, and facilities management, to ensure seamless patient and linen transport.
- Train and mentor staff in patient transport protocols, proper linen handling, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to patient transport and linen services.
- Handle scheduling, staffing needs, and any service issues related to transport and linen services.
- Address patient and staff concerns or complaints related to transport or linen services and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure that equipment used in patient transport and linen services is properly maintained, cleaned, and functional.
- Require an Associate degree. Relevant experience in Hospitality Services in a healthcare setting in patient transportation and linen services can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
- Require five (5) years of related Hospitality/ Customer Service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, with a minimum of two (2) years of lead or supervisor experience.
- Prefer the ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding environment with responsibility for multi-skilled positions.
- Prefer ability to direct, control, and coordinate activities of assigned personnel.
- Prefer operating knowledge of related systems, including Teletracking (bed tracking, Transport tracking).
