Patient Registration Representative/Medical Records Specialist
The Patient Registration Representative/Medical Records Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing exceptional registration services and working closely with other departments to maintain and improve quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients through the registration process, reducing anxiety and promoting a welcoming facility environment.
- Work as a liaison between patients, family members, hospital management, and staff to ensure patient satisfaction and quality of services.
- Process health information, including assembly of analysis, release of information, and medical records processing.
Requirements:
- Minimum three years of experience in healthcare and/or customer service industry.
- Effective communication skills and ability to handle difficult customers or situations.
- Basic knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- General knowledge of medical terminology and insurance concepts.
- Experience in patient interviewing and flexibility for weekend, holiday, and shift work.
- Ability to collect cash, balance transactions, and perform extensive clerical work with accuracy and speed.
- Cross-training on all processes and ability to train staff.
Education:
- Mandatory: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Preferred: Relevant education or certifications.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 6:00pm
