Patient Services Coordinator

Role Overview

The Sarasota Memorial Health Clinical Care Coordinator I is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support services in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed healthcare providers with patient assessments, examinations, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to established medical standards and regulations.
• Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or a certified EMT is required.
• Basic Life Support/CPR certification is also mandatory; alternatively, it must be obtained within a specified timeframe after hire/transfer date.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice is highly desirable.
• Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record systems is also preferred.
• The ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative is essential for success in this role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is highly valued.

Education Requirements

A High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate is a minimum requirement for this position. Additional education may be beneficial but is not specified as required.
