Role Overview
The Sarasota Memorial Health Clinical Care Coordinator I is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support services in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed healthcare providers with patient assessments, examinations, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to established medical standards and regulations.
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or a certified EMT is required.
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification is also mandatory; alternatively, it must be obtained within a specified timeframe after hire/transfer date.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice is highly desirable.
- Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record systems is also preferred.
- The ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is highly valued.
