Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, support the clinical and administrative functions of our medical facility, and contribute to a positive and patient-centered environment. Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and experience working in a hospital or clinic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and providing instructions for post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic medical records (EMRs) and other relevant documentation.
- Support the administrative and clinical functions of our medical facility, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and performing basic administrative tasks.
- Provide patient education and counseling on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures.
- Participate in patient care and management, including observing patient behaviors and reporting any concerns to medical staff.
- Collaborate with other medical assistants and healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient patient care experience.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, and use this knowledge to support patient care and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinic setting, preferably in a pediatric or geriatric environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide patient education and counseling in a supportive and compassionate manner.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar environment.
- Proficiency in dermatology and other specialized areas of healthcare.
- A passion for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and patient-centered healthcare environment.
