What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Information Systems Technician-Medical Records position at Saratoga Hospital System?
Job Summary: The HIS Technician facilitates the record processing functions in the HIS department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the performance of clerical and non-clerical duties, greeting and directing customers, record assembly & analysis, tracking and management of inpatient discharges, release of information, facilitating the copy of records for transfers/expedited reviews for Care Management, assisting with record retrieval, incomplete record functions, and coordination of requests for transcribed reports. The HIS technician must demonstrate commitment to a team approach, as evidenced by a supportive and positive attitude with both internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree (or equivalent credit hours towards a Bachelor's Degree) with at least 1 year of customer service experience dealing with the public.
High school graduate or GED with two years' experience in HIS or combination of HIS experience (at least 1 year) and at least one year of college education.
Knowledge of filing and record keeping systems preferred. Medical terminology preferred.
Salary Range: $17.25 - $26.65
Pay Grade: 16
