What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mammography Technologist position at Saratoga Hospital System?
Summary of Position: Performs all radiographic procedures as required with a special concentration in Mammography. As requested assumes responsibility for all quality testing as it relates to mammography.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Performs radiographic procedures using appropriate technical factors, optimal positioning, correct labeling and accurate identification to produce images of diagnostic quality.
- Performs and/or expected to be trained in procedures such as stereotactic breast biopsy, breast localization and ductograms.
- Performs clerical tasks as requested, maintains a system to track positive mammography findings and correlates findings with the biopsy results, organizes and presents the data to WI quality assurance technologist.
- Maintains records for certification credentialing and CME documentation for NYS, FDA, MQSA, and ACR for physicians, physicist and technologist.
- Responsible for notifying appropriate service engineers in the event of any equipment failures.
- Updates and reviews policies and procedures specific to the site.
- Maintains inventory and orders any supplies needed for the mammography.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiologic technology program. NYS license required. Procedural experience preferred. Must have ARRT registration with advanced certification in mammography.
Salary Range: $27.50-45.16
Pay Grade: 34
Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
