What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits and Leave Specialist position at Saratoga Hospital?
Summary of Position: Manages and administers employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies by reviewing medical documentation, determining eligibility, and coordinating communication between employees, managers and third-party administrators. Provides support in the coordination and administration of employee benefit programs.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, Paid Family Leave (NYS PFL) ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.). Ensures that the leave management component for employees out due to workers’ compensation is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers’ compensation laws
Serves as main point of contact for employees, managers and third-party vendors regarding leave requests, status updates, and return-to-work processes while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Assists employees with benefits-related inquiries, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs. Help develop and distribute benefits
Support benefits enrollments, life event changes, and termination processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years in HR related field required. Leave management experience preferred.
- Experience with UKG, Kornos, and leave management software preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Salary Range: $19.47 - $32.10
Pay Grade: H
Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
