Job Summary : The HIS Technician facilitates the record processing functions in the HIS department.# Responsibilities include but are not limited to the performance of clerical and non-clerical duties, greeting and directing customers, record assembly # analysis, tracking and management of inpatient discharges, release of information, facilitating the copy of records for transfers / expedited reviews for Care Management, assisting with record retrieval, incomplete record functions, and coordination of requests for transcribed reports.# The HIS technician must demonstrate commitment to a team approach, as evidenced by a supportive and positive attitude with both internal and external customers. # Qualifications : Associates Degree (or#equivalent credit hours towards a#Bachelor#s Degree)#with at least 1 year of customer service experience dealing with the public.# # High school graduate or GED with two years# experience in HIS or combination of HIS experience (at least 1 year) and at least one year of college education.# # Knowledge of filing and record keeping systems preferred.# Medical terminology preferred.
