Saratoga Medical has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Physicist - Chief at Long Beach, CA. This is a great full-time opportunity, 40 hours work week schedule, Monday to Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with National Radiation Oncology Program (NROP) standards and all federal and state regulations.
- Oversee treatment planning, quality assurance, and calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
- Provide expertise in Varian TrueBeam, Eclipse Treatment Planning System, and Aria EMR.
- Conduct acceptance testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
- Develop and implement quality control and assurance programs to maintain the highest standards in patient safety.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and Therapists to optimize treatment plans.
- Lead and mentor a team of medical physicists and dosimetrists.
- Ensure compliance with ACR, ASTRO, and AAPM guidelines.
- Participate in research, clinical trials, and new technology integration.
Qualifications:
- Education: PhD in Medical Physics or related field.
- Certification: Board Certified in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-board certification experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam, Eclipse, and Aria systems.
- Experience in acceptance testing and commissioning of linear accelerators and related equipment.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in VA healthcare or government-contracted radiation oncology services.
- Knowledge of national VA guidelines for Radiation Oncology Services.
- Strong research background with published work in medical physics journals.
