Position Overview :
The position will support the critical operations of sterilizing medical instruments and equipment. Technicians will work flexible shifts, depending on departmental needs and will be scheduled on an on-call basis, ensuring the highest standards of sterile processing and patient safety are maintained.
Shifts & Work Schedule :
On-call availability : 7 days a week, 24 hours a day (as needed)
Shifts may include the following (including a ½-hour break) :
12 : 00 PM – 8 : 30 PM
1 : 00 PM – 9 : 30 PM
2 : 00 PM – 10 : 30 PM
3 : 00 PM – 11 : 30 PM
Shifts will be scheduled based on the hospital's needs and technician availability.
Note : Maximum working days are as follows :
60 days within 3 months
120 days within 6 months
240 days every 24 months
Overtime is included but cannot exceed 60 workdays within 3 months.
Requirements :
Experience : Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
Strong understanding of aseptic principles, sterilization techniques, and medical instruments.
Ability to interpret written technical materials, manuals, and regulations.
Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written).
Certifications :
IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification required.
Level II certification – Veterans Affairs Certification (preferred).
