About the Role :

As a Residential Advocate at SARC you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents of our shelter. Your responsibilities will include :

Greeting residents and responding to their requests for assistance or supplies with compassion and empathy.
Conducting intakes and orienting survivors and their children to the shelter ensuring their initial needs are met.
Maintaining cleanliness and order of the shelter including restocking supplies laundry and conducting regular security checks.
Providing crisis intervention services including answering emergency hotlines safety planning and offering emotional support.
Collaborating with oncall staff to address emergencies and issues related to residents.

Schedule :

Monday Friday 11pm to 7am.

Salary :

19.00 per hour plus $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 8pm and 8am.

Requirements

Necessary Skills :

Desire to gain experience working with victims / survivors of domestic violence.

Attention to detail emotional maturity flexibility and ability to work independently.

Physical ability to climb steps and lift occasional bulky items.

Requirements for Consideration :

A valid drivers license.

Preferred Experience :

At least 1 year in crisis intervention.
