GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for the completion of ad-hoc financial analysis for the Corporation’s various insurance entities, for-profit entities, the Foundation, and et al.; including current business investments, new insurance business financial modeling and analysis, due diligence for potential acquisitions and investments, minority/majority investment valuations. This position works with executive leaders, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and company Presidents to provide the thorough analysis needed to support their business evaluation and decision-making process. The Senior Financial Analyst exhibits a business growth mindset, and is engaged and curious about business opportunities that deliver the enterprise benefits of growth.
This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

The starting salary range for this position is $83,000 to $104,000. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. The Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including merit process and internal pay alignment when determining the salary for potential new team members. In compliance with state and federal regulations, a potential new team member’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for building robust book of business reporting that depicts key measures by line of business, and that provides actual-to-budget performance, as well as forecasting where applicable
- Develops scenario-based models that depict outcomes of, and informs, strategy and strategic decisions
- Provides and presents fact based analyses that support tactical pricing decisions by illustrating opportunity-specific returns and the broader impact on business segment portfolios
- Creates, reviews, analyzes, summarizes and reports financial and operational data to the CEO, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), President, and other Executive Leaders
- Utilizes Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Basis Accounting and financial reporting and analysis
- Identifies need for automated reporting and forecasting tools to support analysis projects, and works with the Data Analytics team to implement reporting
- Conducts periodic valuation analysis and makes recommendations for quarterly financial statement adjustments to existing investments/acquired companies
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Required:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical skills with Financial/Accounting related data and highly proficient working with large data sets
- Self-directed with strong time management and prioritization, and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present complex data in a succinct manner to C-Suite level audience
- Strong interpersonal skills, must possess the ability to foster collaboration across company departments
- Strong skills in all Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel skills, experience creating Excel models and creating professional presentation materials in PowerPoint
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent comprehensive experience with reporting from an ERP or financial/accounting system
- Ability to work on-site/in-office three (3) to five (5) days per week, based on business demands
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Experience with NetSuite reporting
- Experience with GAAP analysis and reporting
- Experience with Insurance Accounting analysis
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree, and/or equivalent work experience
- Three (3) years experience with Financial Modeling in the Accounting/Finance field
- Five (5) years experience with Financial Reporting and Analysis in the Accounting/Finance field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
- One (1) year experience in the Health Care or Insurance Industry
- Two (2) years experience in Public Accounting
- Travel Requirements: Minimal
- Weight Lifting Requirements: up to 20 lbs.
