A Plant Health Care Technician at Sargent’s is a vital role within our Garden and Tree Services Department. As a Plant Health Care Technician, you will be caring for trees and shrubs by performing fertilization and treatments for insects and diseases. You will regularly utilize plant healthcare tools and equipment for spraying and injecting trees and shrubs.
You will measure your success here at Sargent’s by safely and efficiently completing work to the highest standards and on budget. You will be part of a team that is growing and developing every day, and you are a key player in the success of that team. As a top performer in this role, you will be highly skilled and knowledgeable on all plant healthcare concerns and communicate well with customers and employees alike.

You Have:
- A love for working outdoors

- A knowledge of trees and shrubs; ID, insects and diseases, and understanding physiology
- Experience and knowledge of a wide range of plant health care
- Ability to handle extended periods of activity and exposure to exterior elements
- At least 3 years’ experience in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping. Or a related degree with 1 year of experience
- A valid driver’s license and able to be insured on Sargent’s company insurance policy
- A MN-DOT Health Card or ability to obtain within 1 week of hire
- A MN Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain within 4 weeks of hire
- An age of 18 years or older
- Availability to work Monday – Friday with occasional Saturday work. Hours are generally 7am – 5pm depending on job and season.
