Specializing in the scrap, recycling and demolition industries, we work with customers within the Midwest Region across the nation.

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Preferred; High School Diploma plus College or Technical training in Engineering, Electronics or Mechanical studies


Experience/Knowledge: 

  • 1-2 Minimum of years working with Electrical Equipment with computer programming experience and CAD design software
  • Strong Math skills with understanding of motors, PLC programs and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to diagnosis operational problems for both Electrical and Mechanical issues.
  • Ability to use computers and computer programs.
  • Have an understanding of Electrical and Mechanical principals of medium voltage motors and support equipment used in metal shredding industry.
  •  Must be able to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
  • Ability to provide information in report form for documentation and historical purposes.           

    *Must have a valid and current Drivers License and Passport*


    Proficient in the following computer software programs:

    • Allen Bradley Logix 500 and 5000, Communication and Servo drive software
    • Siemens step 7 software
    • Microsoft Office Professional
    • GE Enter vista Multiline software
    • AutoCAD


    Physical Requirements:

    • Lifting of up to 60 LBS, on a regular basis
    • Climbing stairs and ladders
    • Working on elevated platforms


    Working Conditions:

    • Office: Controlled environment
    • Field Work: Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.


    Essential Functions:

    • Responsible for assisting with or completion of all assigned projects and Field jobs.
    • Work must be completed within set guidelines established by the manufacturers, company policy and any regulatory agency requirements as outlined by law.
    • Become experienced with installation and operation of the following; Liquid Rheostats, Motor Starters, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Medium Voltage Shredder Motors.


    Duties and Tasks:

    • Complete assigned projects as to design, specifications, and equipment requirements to meet job requirements.
    • Troubleshoot customers’ equipment by accessing existing PLC programs. Modify or edit programs as needed by the customer. Develop new applications as needed.
    • Support customers’ motor management relays. Become proficient in motor thermal models and relay coordination.
    • Develop and maintain electronic records of all customer assets that are maintained by Sargent's equipment.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all job assignments are completed safely and according to job requirements.
    • Handle phone calls from clients to assist in resolving problems or concerns. Be able to determine need of service trip as to emergencies or scheduled service.
    • Provide routine on site customer inspection of operational equipment and electrical components. Travel to customer location and perform all work necessary to complete the job. Provide emergency on-site service for customers when required.
    • This position will require travel in North America which could represent > 60% of the employees work time.
    • Prepare and submit paper work at required times and timely at the completion of each job. This includes weekly project reports, billable / non-billable time reports, travel and expense reports, as required by the policies of the company.
    • Maintains knowledge in industry advancements and skill sets allowing for individual growth.
