Job Description:
• Responsible for: helping install servers and switches in racks, un-racking servers and racking replacements, Ethernet and power cable wiring, fiber cable wiring, replacing disk drives and memory, diagnosing hardware issues as well as some software issues.Requirements:
• 4 years of experience with server hardware · 1 years of experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems
• LDAP and Active directory experience
• Familiarity with: IT hardware and technologies
o Base Operating System Install
o Boot processes and configuration
o RAID configurations
o SAN – 3PAR, iSCSI and fiber channel
o Command Line Interface – basic scripting knowledge and ability
o File Systems, SSH, telnet and ftp protocol
• Familiarity with: Networking hardware and concepts
o Understanding of DNS and DHCP
o Understands types of transceivers – network, SAN, etc.
o Cabling standards – Copper (CAT5E, CAT6)
o Can terminate CAT5E and CAT6 cables for custom length cables.
o Cabling standards: Fiber, DAC’s (10GB,40GB, etc.)• Knowledge of server hardware workings and configurations such as RAID, networking cards, server setups.
• HPE ProLiant server equipment knowledge. Familiarity with Synergy and C7000 hardware. General server knowledge.
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent record keeping skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem resolution skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
