Quality Control Associate - 2nd shift - $19.95 per hour
As a Quality Control Associate on the 2nd shift in our manufacturing facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet established quality standards and specifications. Reporting directly to the Quality Control Supervisor and Manager, you will leverage your expertise in measurement and inspection techniques, such as using calipers and micrometers, to evaluate and maintain product quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take samples from the finished product and perform chemical and laboratory testing according to customer specifications.
- Enter all test results into the SAP database.
- Package finished products in preparation for shipping by customer specifications.
- Coordinate with operators and managers regarding any product deficiencies.
- Perform corrective action studies, as needed.
- Conduct chemical analysis for the electroplating line.
- Perform visual inspections on all products.
- Perform general housekeeping within the quality area and packaging department.
- Follow up on laboratory equipment calibrations and notify managers of calibration due dates.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Use forklift as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to use and comprehend Microsoft Office and AS400 database.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to safely and successfully operate a forklift, micrometer, and calipers.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is generally loud. The employee is required to regularly work with toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places. Proper PPE is provided.
Physical Demands:
- Regular standing, walking, reaching, using hands, talking, and hearing.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Team Lift procedures will be used for any object weighing over 50 pounds.
- The employee must have clear vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, and the ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point. The employee must also have three-dimensional vision with the ability to judge distances and special relationships, and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while observing color.
