Job Summary

As a Product Designer at Saronic, you will play a pivotal role in designing user-centered solutions for our autonomous surface vessels and related systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and DoD stakeholders, to create intuitive, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs. From early-stage concepts to final product iterations, you will ensure that the design vision aligns with both user needs and technical requirements. This role is ideal for a versatile designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about working on impactful, high-tech projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall direction and decision-making for product and design strategy
• Own all aspects of design execution from discovery, ideation, prototyping, testing, and implementation
• Use storytelling to align and bring stakeholders along in your design process.
• Play an influential role in shaping the end-to-end experiences for critical operator workflows.
• Maintain a high bar for craft-driving novel experiences at the edge, and bringing back the results to evolve the underlying platform experience.
• Balance short-term tactical bets while making meaningful progress towards long-term strategic pursuits.
• Help to shape our ways of working as a centralized product design function operating in a fast paced environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• 6 years of industry experience.
• High attention to detail and mastery of visual & interaction design craft.
• Online portfolio demonstrating multimodal experiences.
• Ability to clearly articulate the why, process, and impact of your work.
• No prior defense experience necessary.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
