Material Handler - 2nd shift (Packing/Interim Warehouse)

SARSTEDT, a leading manufacturer and distributor of blood collection and medical devices, laboratory consumables and instrumentation, seeks a Material Handler. 

Summary 

Responsible for receiving, maintaining and organizing production inventory. 

Hours are: M-F 2:30pm to 11:00pm (some saturdays)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as apparent or required by management.  

• Responsible for moving and storing inventory in the interim warehouse.
• Maintain and organize inventory and performs physical inventory counts.
• Responsible for pulling and staging product based on order demand. 
• Crosstrain in the Packing Department and unload product from the conveyor line and transfer product to the logistics center. 
• Work according to safety regulations at all times and reports unsafe conditions immediately.
• Contribute to keeping the packing and interim warehouse areas clean and organized. 
• Complete administrative duties such as data entry, resolving minor issues, and making cardboard or plastic bales.

Requirements/Qualifications 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Forklift License and valid driver’s license. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
• Ability to subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.   
• The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. 
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  

Work environment

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and airborne particles.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. 
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
