Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Type: M-F 8a-4:30p Full-Time
Pay: $55k-$60k annually

SAS Forks LLC is a small business in Luxemburg, WI. We are a leading manufacturer of material handling equipment utilized within salvage yards, rock quarries, demolition and other rugged applications.
Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer you will design, develop, and optimize attachments for heavy equipment. in this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet safety standards, performance requirements, and cost-effectiveness. You will play a key role in creating innovative solutions to enhance the performance and reliability of attachments for various heavy machinery applications.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Creates and improves existing designs for wheel loader and excavator attachments.
- Utilize SolidWorks to model new products using industry and company standards.
- Create weldment and assembly drawings with Bills of Materials
- Perform classical stress calculations along with FEA to design components and select materials.
- Specify tolerances for assembly components.
- Creates prototypes of joysticks and other small parts utilizing 3D printer technology
- Coordinate design reviews with sales and manufacturing staff for new products.
- Prepare shop traveler packets with documentation necessary for fabrication (prints, instructions, BOM)
- Support production floor throughout the manufacturing process, solving issues as required.
- Occasionally travel to vendor trade shows for product improvements and departmental development
- Occasionally travel to customer sites to take physical measurements and 3D scans of equipment.
- Understanding of AWS and other weld codes and applications
- Understanding ROI and to be able to provide evaluation of potential projects.
- Work closely with shop personnel to understand fabrication processes.
- Interact with sales staff and customers to understand and identify & prioritize product performance requirements.
- Identify critical dates related to Engineering’s deliverables in product development timeline.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 years SolidWorks Premium experience or another 3-D package: Inventor, ProE
- Strong design skills of complex parts and assemblies utilizing 3D software.
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience with metal working measurement devices and tolerances.
- Experience in one or more of the following: large weldments, structural components, mechanical components, hydraulic components is preferred.

Physical Abilities:
- Mobility: Ability to bend down to floor, pick up items, lift to table height, grasp materials, tools & fixtures with hands & manipulate safely into position as required by the blueprints and related fixtures.
