About the job
We’re seeking an Information Systems Engineer to provide IT support for Hosted SAS Solution on-prem and in the cloud. This role will use your communication and technical skills to support both internal and external customers. You will help maintain Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements by fulfilling delivery items and identifying and recommending solutions to improve the performance, reliability, and standardization of our hosted solutions.
As an Information System Engineer, you will:
- Perform daily Linux administrative activities for all hosting servers, including analyzing, installation, maintenance, adjustments, and general troubleshooting in multiple environments, including a secure, regulated environment.
- Support Kubernetes delivery for US-restricted environments
- Develop, leverage, and discover opportunities for automation within the hosted customer environment in a manner that meets technical and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize the ServiceNow ticketing system to address and resolve customer concerns and requests.
- Work collaboratively within the team and other SAS teams to fulfill requests and resolve issues.
- Maintain knowledge of diverse infrastructure architecture, security policies, and standards and consistently apply those practices.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and performance problems while developing step-by-step documentation.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a heterogeneous, dynamic, customer-focused environment.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux or other Linux distributions.
- Support experience with virtualization technology (VMware) and public cloud providers (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Wide experience with infrastructure architecture, including servers, networks, storage, and backup, with a strong understanding of how everything fits together.
- Experience with any scripting language (Bash preferred)

Preferred qualifications
- Collaborative team experience with superior problem-solving skills.
- Experience with LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory integration within UNIX/Linux
- Familiarity with NIST and/or ISO standards, or work experience in regulated industries such as government, health care, and financial institutions.
- Experience in a hosting environment or with applications such as Nginx, Squid, Postfix, etc. and the networking glue that binds them together.
