About the job
The Platform Services division is looking for an Emerging Career Software Developer to join a team of talented engineers working collaboratively to manage, enhance and evolve shared first-party and third-party Java libraries within our platform. Our mission is to ensure that our Java libraries serve as a robust and secure foundation for our platform's development, empowering our teams to deliver exceptional solutions.
As an Emerging Career Software Developer, you will:
- Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to best practices and processes
- Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.
- Ensure quality by creating and maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
- In collaboration with technical writers, authors appropriate level of design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers
- Collaborate with team members to implement innovative approaches to our evolving software architecture as product requirements dictate
Required qualifications
- 2 years of software development experience in Java
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
- Familiarity with a CI/CD concepts with knowledge of GitHub, Git, Gradle, or similar technology
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Familiarity with using Docker
- Familiarity with Golang
- Experience with cloud technologies and providers - Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenShift
