About the job
The Platform Services division is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a team of talented engineers working collaboratively to manage, enhance and evolve shared first-party and third-party Java libraries within our platform. Our mission is to ensure that our Java libraries serve as a robust and secure foundation for our platform's development, empowering our teams to deliver exceptional solutions.
As a Senior Software Developer, you will:
- Evolve software architecture to meet changes in product requirements.
- Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.
- Ensure quality by creating and maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
- Collaborate with team members to implement innovative approaches to our evolving software architecture as product requirements dictate.
- Mentors and assists activities of junior developers.
Required qualifications
- 8 years of experience working on large complex software products as a developer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrable experience with the Java and Spring Boot.
- Demonstrated experience CI/CD and associated tools like Jenkins, Github, Linux commands, etc
- Demonstrated experience of Agile development practices and tools such as JIRA.
- Demonstrated experience with unit, regression, and integration testing.
- Proficiency in conducting code reviews, providing clear feedback to improve code quality, maintainability and adherence to best practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in performance monitoring, tuning, analysis and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Gradle (and maven) build tools.
