What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Level Urban Designer (Denver) position at Sasaki?
Sasaki is seeking a Senior Urban Designer to join our Planning and Urban Design team in our Denver office. The successful candidate will be in integral member of Sasaki's Planning and Urban Design practice, working collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams consisting of planners, landscape architects, architects, and urban designers. Applicants should have strong graphic, design, and communication skills and an eagerness to learn.
In this role as senior urban designer, you would :
Play a lead role in all aspects of the design process including analysis, conceptual ideas, design development, client presentations, and documentation.Manage internal design teams and participate in external relationships with clients and subconsultants.Engage in business development, including marketing proposals, project interviews, etc.Be responsible for creating 2d and 3d analytical and conceptual drawings, graphics, presentation materials, research, and digital models.Initiate urban design concepts and visual graphics.Work with and mentor staff-level urban designers on the development of urban design concepts and graphics.Present design ideas during internal team and client meetingsWork with a variety of teams and contribute to a range of project types and geographiesQualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative skillsExcellent presentation, verbal, written and graphic communication skillsStrong organizational and management skillsMaster's degree in Urban Design with a background in Architecture, Landscape or PlanningAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyCapacity for project-related travelAbility to think creatively and critically
Sasaki is headquartered in Boston with smaller offices in New York, Shanghai, Denver, and Los Angeles. This position is based in Denver and requires at least three days a week face-to-face in our downtown studio, with robust support for hybrid work.
