Construction Technology Manager – Field Support Services for Electrical Contractor

Applicants should have exceptional natural intelligence and a solid grasp of the technology landscape as well as exceptional communication skills—and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization (in the office and in the field on construction job sites). The ideal candidate will have an electrical construction and IT background.
Job Duties:
- Primary focus is to research new hardware & software products and make recommendations for state-of-the-art productivity improvements.
- Testing and implementing new technology to assist in everyday task for all field employees. Including but not limited to, creating digital document control and workflows using iPads, Tablets, and Field PC's; allowing the field to spend more time building and less time searching for information.
- Consult with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects and effectively translate requirements into functional plans in coordination with systems engineering.
- Train users in operation of business application systems, and update training materials as needed due to enhancements to system.
- Develop and conduct training as needed for use by department-level staff to improve productivity with inventory.
- Write and maintain functional specifications for new or modified business systems. Consult and coordinate with systems analysts and programmers to design and develop automated business systems.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
- Consult with business unit management and personnel to obtain additional information during system development and evaluate alternatives.
- Direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs.
- Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests.
- Prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Computer Science or related program..... or combination of construction (ideally electrical) experience and IT experience.
- Ability to comprehend and effectively translate client’s requirements into functional technical specifications.
- Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
