Job Summary
Server | Sasha's Wine Bar, DeMun location (Clayton)
We are a family owned and operated business seeking strong, confident, full-time servers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wine and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices within the food industry. As a Server, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional experience for our guests by providing high-quality hospitality, upselling both food and drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring efficient service with a positive attitude. Our servers are often cross-trained to bartend.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in serving roles.
- Working knowledge of wine, craft beer, spirits, and craft cocktails.
- Willingness to engage in our continuing education programs for our beverage and food menus.
- Proficiency in POS systems (We currently use Toast)
- Strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and regulations
- Previous experience in fine dining or upscale establishments is a plus
- Ability to handle cash transactions and operate a cash register
- Basic math skills for handling orders and transactions
Experience
- Previous experience in service and food service is required.
- Previous bartending experience is loved.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry is essential.
- Experience with POS systems is required.
- Strong sales skills to promote menu items effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques.
- Engage with customers, providing recommendations and taking orders efficiently.
- Operate the POS system for processing orders and payments accurately.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of food items.
- Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries or concerns promptly.
