As a Battery Truck Representative, you will be responsible for delivering batteries to General Motors and Ford dealerships assigned to the daily route, interfacing with dealership personnel to facilitate deliveries and returns, maintaining a safe driving record, operating a vehicle safely, and properly maintaining 16-20ft battery trucks. This position is full-time and must comply with MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) criteria. No CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is required for this position.
Salary Overview:The pay rate for this role starts at $22 per hour based on experience.
Hours:
The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm.
Battery Truck Driver Responsibilities Include:
Safely drive company trucks.
Utilize defensive driving practices.
Complete safety inspections on the truck pre-trip and post-trip.
Fill up the gas tank daily using the company-issued purchase program.
Communicate issues like overages, shortages, incidents, and accidents.
Replenish the customer’s needs from the Battery Truck inventory.
Rotate stock to ensure that batteries retain proper charge.
Pickup battery cores for return to SAS.
Replenish Battery Truck inventory and follow proper internal audit procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
Process paperwork to document sales, core returns, and any communication from customers.
Support and participate in Suburban Accessories’ continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback, alerting key stakeholders to issues, and being open to change.
Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SA mission and vision.

Battery Truck Driver Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Valid Driver's License with an adequate driving record.
DOT (Department of Transportation) Medical Card or ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to pass a road test annually.
Ability to pass the drug test and background check.
Ability to pass the MVR check.
Consistent work history and attendance record.
Reliable transportation.
A High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have the capability to earn a Certified Forklift License.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an adequate driving record to pass company insurance guidelines.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to drive safely in adverse weather conditions like rain, fog, snow, heat, and wind.
Must be okay with sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
