Purpose of Job

Reporting to the Team Lead Design Services; I&E Design Coordinator supporting Design Services providing day-to-day technical support as it pertains to administration of Smart Instrumentation and AutoCAD I&E design tools and functions.

Key Accountabilities

• Implement and support the SmartPlant design tool suite including Smart P&ID and Smart Instrumentation.
• Provide I&E support and troubleshooting for any Smart Instrumentation or AutoCAD related issues from Lake Charles Chemical Complex users and any designated satellite sites in the US.
• Maintain Smart Instrumentation CAD blocks for loops and installation details.
• Perform and/or provide end-user support/guidance for Smart Instrumentation to other Design/Engineering professionals.
• Administrate project creation, configuration and customization in Smart Instrumentation, and other design tools supporting both on-site and Home Office Engineering Contractor requirements.
• Coordinate Home Office I&E Engineering and Design to ensure engineering contractors can deliver engineering and design efficiently and seamlessly integrate into Sasol end-of-job documentation and data platforms.
• Perform and/or oversee updating Smart Instrumentation for end of job documentation and control documents.
• Identify and implement changes to set up new users and/or increase user productivity in Smart Instrumentation or other related engineering design tools.
• Creation and delivery of Smart Instrumentation training aids, such as training courses, one-on-one training, and written training materials.
• Maintain I&E asset tagging and drawing number assignments.
  
  
  

Formal Education

• High School/ School Diploma or similar
  
  
  

Working Experience

• 10 years' experience working in PSM regulated petrochemical or refining industries with knowledge of AutoCAD and Smart Instrumentation with some knowledge of Smart P&ID
  
  
  

Required Personal/Professional Skills

• Experience in I&E Design with an understanding of good engineering practices.
• Strong Knowledge and understanding of Smart Instrumentation (INtools) and AutoCAD.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication including the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams for discussion, email, and reporting.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel and stakeholders at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, operations, and management as well as corporate or global stakeholders and outside EPC contractors.
• Demonstrates strong and assertive leadership skills and capable of directing teams and productively influencing work groups.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
