Essential Job Functions: Essential job functions are to plan, organize and direct all aspects of holistic pain management and operating room. Responsible for initiating and documenting insurance notification, authorizations, and/or reference numbers for all patients within all facilities via report, web, and/or telephone. Ensure that payor-specific requirements are met. Work directly with Business Office, provider office and hospital staff to assist with pre-authorization, answer inquiries and update accounts as needed. Responsible for communicating with Business Office and insurance companies in a timely manner on issues that arise.
Additional Job Functions:
- Schedule surgical and anesthesia care provider procedures within established guidelines
- Coordinate resources available for maximum utilization
- Obtain patient and procedural information, prints, distributes, and updates schedules. Keeps statistical information.
- Perform computer data entry retrieval
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Overall supervision and direction of the departments – 20%
- Develops department goals and objectives and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation.
- Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports including QA and Risk Management. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required.
- Develops work schedules when needed and oversees payroll and hours of work.
Supervisor and assist in all aspects of holistic pain management, operating room, and services – 75%
- Conducts and oversees the centralized procurement of all supplies, equipment, and services.
- Effectively uses purchasing agreements and contracts.
- Organizes and oversees receiving and operations, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of materials and proper storage of stock.
- Sets up and effects a perpetual inventory control system and conducts inventories.
- Acts as advisor/resource to all departments regarding supply, equipment, and service needs.
- Provides cost-benefit analysis to substantiate decisions in product selection.
Continuous Professional Development – 5%
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates in hospital meetings and services organizations as required.
- Participates in meetings regarding information related to current affiliations with purchasing groups.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
Experience: Preferred 1 – 3 years healthcare experience.
Certificates, Licenses,
Registrations: Kansas Registered Nurse or Certified Scrub Tech

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
