The Risk Manager will oversee the organizations comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.

The Risk Manager will:
- work with the S&P’s insurance and bonds broker to obtain insurance and bonds specific to each project;
- work with insurance carriers and sureties to track and resolve claims;
- develop an understanding of the insurance policies, endorsements, exclusions and exceptions and advise S&P’s General Counsel as needed;
- develop an understanding of statutory and contract payment and performance bonds, including understanding the notice and filing requirements associated with each;
- Take on additional projects as assigned by S&P’s General Counsel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements;
- Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, new products on the market, and recovery measures;
- Communicates with insurance broker, insurance carriers, sureties and project teams to manage the orderly flow of insurance and bonds to the projects and the efficient resolution of claims;
- Drafts and presents risk reports and proposals to S&P General Counsel;
- Regular office attendance required;
- Performs other duties as directed;
- Continuing education through seminars and certification courses will be expected.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance or related field preferred;
- At least one year of related risk management experience.
