This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, manages budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, and internal controls, and provides strategic financial advice to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data and present insights to senior leadership.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Construction-Specific Accounting:
- Review and analyze cost to ensure accurate cost accounting.
- Development and manage accounting.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring their professional development and alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to streamline financial workflows.
- Strategic Planning and Advisory:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate initiatives as needed.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Regular job site attendance required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the construction industry, with knowledge of project accounting and WIP schedules.
- Skills:
- Proficient in construction-specific ERP systems (ie. ACC and Viewpoint).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
