This position manages model information through model-based estimating, constructability reviews, subcontractor model coordination, schedule activity analysis, 4D schedule simulations, actual work in place (AWIP) production trending, 3D schedule look aheads, and 5D earned value reporting.
Essential Job Functions
- Utilize BIM models to support project teams
- Present BIM/VDC information to project teams, executives, clients, and owners
- Effective review and reading of construction documents
- Develop and maintain data-rich 3D models
- Condition Architect/Engineer models for estimation and construction
- Produce model-based reports
- Lead coordination of models for conflict/clash detection, including reports and conducting meetings
- Collect Actual Work in Place (AWIP) from project sites
- Produce 4D schedule simulations
- Set up and maintain model look-ahead views
- Produce accurate and timely project monthly reports
- Review 5D earned value models
- Understand Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
- Manage BIM/VDC requirements and deliverables
- Facilitate solutions through collaboration with design and project teams
- Occasional heavy lifting (20 lbs./13.6 kg) can occur, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common.
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g. computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.)
- The job is performed indoors in a corporate office and at job sites (indoors and outside). Protect/safety gear (e.g., hard hat, glasses, etc.) is required while onsite. Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather, if needed; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- A. or B.S. in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Graphics, or equivalent experience
- 0-1 years of work experience
- Experience with Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD strongly preferred
- Experience with Assemble, Sketchup, BIM 360, Synchro 4D, Primavera, and 3ds Max a plus
