What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hearing Representative position at Satzman & Associates?
Satzman & Associates is an Inglewood boutique Workers Compensation defense law firm. We are looking for a hearing representative who can represent our clients at various legal hearings. Some of the key responsibilities include managing a high caseload and meeting deadlines, communicating with parties, attending hearings, billing and potentially traveling to WCAB locations. In addition, we are looking for motivated individuals with excellent communication skills, who can work independently, are detail-oriented, and can multitask.
Key Responsibilities:
· Client Representation: Representing client at legal hearings before the (WCAB) Workers Compensation Appeals Board.
· Case Management: Managing a high volume of cases, including reviewing and evaluating case files, and maintaining accurate case notes
· Communication: Communicating effectively with all relevant parties, including clients, attorneys and other stakeholders.
· Document Preparation: Preparing and filing legal documents as needed.
· Research: Conducting research relevant to each case.
· Negotiation: Securing optimal outcomes through negotiations and possibly some court room advocacy.
· Hearing Attendance: Attending all relevant hearings and representing the client’s interest including depositions, conferences, trials and arbitrations.
· Travel: Possible travel to assigned WCAB locations.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
· Experience: 2 years of experience as a hearing representative or similar role, ideally in Workers Compensation.
· Knowledge: Understanding of California Workers Compensation laws and procedures, including the WCAB process, EAMS, E-filing, and the AME/PQME process.
· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Organization: Ability to manage a high volume of cases and juggle multiple tasks.
· Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with electronic documents.
· Legal Knowledge: General understanding of workers’ compensation legal processes and procedures.
