Bluff Elementary School in Claremont, NH is seeking a dynamic, transformative, child-focused educator to serve as its next principal. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a staff dedicated to improving student academic outcomes and social-emotional well-being. You will join a team of fellow administrators working toward this shared vision. The school serves approximately 156 students in grades K-5. The community actively supports student endeavors through the PTO, local businesses, and service organizations.
Situated in the beautiful Connecticut River Valley, Claremont is a small city on the move, ready for the energy that a visionary school leader will bring to the community. The surrounding area offers a wide variety of four-season recreational opportunities, from the Green Mountains of Vermont to New Hampshire’s White Mountains, as well as numerous lakes and ponds. Proximity to many colleges and universities provides opportunities for collaboration and a rich cultural life.
We are seeking an outstanding instructional leader to serve as the next Principal of the Bluff Elementary School beginning July 1, 2025. That is an educational leader who demonstrates, at best, the following five components with respect to their approach to the position of Principal:
- Believes in the importance and value of all human narratives and identities and leads within an anti-biased and anti-racist framework that actively promotes equitable practices for all members of the Bluff Elementary School community.
- Reflects a high level of integrity and character that can be observed and modeled through visible behaviors while interacting with students, staff, and families.
- Has ample elementary classroom teaching experience that reflects knowledge of research-based instructional and practical assessment strategies.
- Has a broad base of knowledge regarding competency-based learning and elementary curriculum.
- Possesses a background in terms of interests, professional affiliations, and experiences varied enough to bring diversity to our district leadership team.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level, preferably in more than one grade level.
- Master’s degree or higher in education leadership with certification (or eligible) as a New Hampshire Elementary School Principal.
- Demonstrated administrative and collaborative leadership experience at the elementary level.
- A passion for helping students grow and learn
- An ability to manage change while strengthening relationships and building networks within the community
- Masters Degree
- At least 3 years of Principal experience
- Currently have a New Hampshire principal certification.
