What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCHOOL YEAR SECRETARY - CANTERBURY ELEMENTARY position at SAU 80, Shaker Regional School District?
Perform various secretarial tasks and assist students, parents, and staff with daily activities/events. This position is 7 hours per day for 205 days, which includes 178 school days; 5 days before the start of school; 5 days after the end of school; 12 additional days; and 5 paid holidays. District contribution toward Health Insurance plus fully paid Dental, Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance is provided. Participation in the NH Retirement System is required.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Greet all visitors courteously, determine their needs, direct or escort them to destination.2. Provide general secretarial support including typing, filing, scheduling appointments, and answering telephones and routing calls and/or message to appropriate personnel.3. Provide secretarial services to the principal and serves as liaison to public organizations.4. Issue tardy slips to students as required and make calls to parents of absent students.5.
Separate and distribute daily mail and ensure outgoing mail is taken each day.6. Assist in the preparation and distribution of school forms, notices, calendars, and menus.7. Work with the Principal on opening and closing of the school year as needed.8. Operate various office equipment.9.
Process purchase orders, organize supply areas and restock inventory.10. Maintain cumulative student files, register new students, and request records from transferring school. Work with Principal on Kindergarten Registration.11. Prepare certificates of achievement for honor roll, graduation, and participation for special clubs/occasions.12.
Issue bus passes and confirm special transportation requests.13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal necessary to the operation of the school.
