Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Para/LNA to join our school team. This role is essential in providing support to students with educational and/or physical disabilities in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students. Minimal medical support including mobility assistance and supported transfers is required.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Support students in their academic tasks, including subjects such as math and literacy.
- Collaborate with teachers and special educators to implement curriculum materials suited for students with developmental disabilities.
- Provide assistance during activities.
- Offer minimal medical support such as mobility assistance and supported transfers.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Background in educational support roles is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed academically and socially.
