Position Summary:
The Sewing Associate I will sew seats, backs and arms for seating and lounge furniture for the Education and Healthcare market using an Industrial Sewing Machine.
Utilize Industrial Sewing Machine
Operator can sew all product in both double & single-needle
Inspects finished products to ensure that they meet customer specifications
Quality- understand stitch per inch
Can make repairs and adjustments
Set up machines; change bobbins; thread and re-thread
Troubleshoot- minor sewing issues
Position Requirements:
Hand-eye coordination is critical
Must be detail-oriented
Must have the ability to be trained on Industrial Sewing Machine
Regular lifting and maneuvering and positioning of components up to 25 pounds
Requires reaching, pulling and stretching of fabric
Requires full shift of standing, sitting, walking, bending and lifting
Able to read, write and follow instructions, both written and verbal
Inspecting quality of work
Additional duties as assigned Able to assist in training employees
5-S audits and daily cleaning
Ensures a safe working environment by conforming to all safety guidelines including, but not limited to, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Experience and Knowledge Required:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous Manufacturing Experience preferred
