THIS POSITION
The SCA is currently recruiting multiple Bartenders to join our Hospitality Team for the 2025 season. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about the SCA’s mission and programs and excited to be part of the SCA staff. You will play a key role in offering the highest levels of customer service to patrons at the SCA as a Bartender. As part of the front line of the SCA, the Bartenders must maintain the image of the SCA to all patrons, donors, members and employees. The Bartenders act as the face of the SCA in terms of attitude, competency, knowledge, and appearance.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Working with Hospitality & Rental Director, and Lead Bartender during performances, events and rentals:
- Serving patrons in a friendly and timely manner
- Reporting low inventory of alcohol and products served at the bar
- Receiving cash and credit card from patrons for beverages
- Setting up bar and pulling stock before events
- Cleaning up (day/night of) after working events
- Stocking and restocking cooler for future events
- Completing and turning in proper paperwork
- Assist at performances and special events as scheduled
- Maintain facility cleanliness before, during, and after events
- Organize kitchen, recyclables, and returnables
- WHAT SKILLS YOU’LL NEED TO SHINE IN THIS JOB
- Be knowledgeable about the SCA and Saugatuck area
- Lift materials of up to 40 pounds on occasion
- Work with the public (guests), performers, vendors, and other SCA staff
- Must be 21 or older to apply
- Must possess exemplary interpersonal skills, and be able to interact with staff, board, volunteers, guests, instructors and performers in a professional manner
- Must be able to multi-task effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Ability to follow written and verbal direction
- TiPS Trained (will train if needed)
- Previous bartending experience required
- Money handling and retail experience utilizing cash and Square app

COMMITMENT
This is a part time seasonal position. Spring/Summer/Fall: 15-25 hours/week. Evenings and weekends are required.
