What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saugus High School Student Government Advisor REPOST position at Saugus Middle High School?
Statement of Duties:
•Supervision and oversight of the State Government Day
•Recruitment and training of students for Town Student Government Day
•Prepare elected/selected students
•Coordinate both Student Government Day activities according to the information provided by the MTA, the Saugus Town by-lay on Student Government Day, and the procedures established by the Saugus Public Schools
•Plan and implement school-wide elections
•Attend and chaperone Student Government Day event.
•Establish and/or maintain community support with established parents’ groups and other institutions, which are supportive of academic initiatives
•Prepare an end of the year report indicating the number of students participating.
•Prepare new releases for local press subject to the approval of the Social Studies Curriculum Specialist and the High School Principal
•Undertake other related duties as assigned by the High School Principal and the Social Studies Curriculum Specialist
•Contact the legislative delegation for Saugus to inform them of Saugus’ participation in State Student Government Day and who the two students will be.
•Meet with the Town Manager or his/her designee to coordinate the Town Student Government Day.
Qualifications:
•Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
•A teacher employed full time at Saugus High School will be given first consideration.
•Demonstrated ability to motivate students of varying learning styles to pursue academic enrichment activities
