Under the general supervision of the site administrator and district nurse, and direction of the office manager, the Health Care Assistant / Licensed Nurse will provide specialized physical health care services (SPHCS) for or assist with serving students with medically complex needs. The Health Care Assistant / Licensed Nurse is responsible for planning and administering student health care safely within the scope of the Licensed Nurse Practice Act under the direction of the credentialed school nurse in compliance with physician's orders. This job class assists the assigned school nurse and other staff to meet the specialized physical health care needs of designated students. Employees in this classification receive direct and indirect supervision from the school nurse regarding health-related training. General supervision with a framework of policies and procedures is provided.
License, Education, and Training :
Required to take or must participate in specialized training in designated procedures necessary to this position.
Possess and maintain valid CPR / First Aid certificates issued by an authorized agency.
Possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License.
